Homemade therapy
I recall many years ago that when I felt down unhappy and worried I would come home from school and throw my arms around my dog " Tammy" neck and snuggle into her, I felt safe and secure nestled into her neck and there I would tell her all my woes and worrys and feel 100% better.
Sadly when I turned 19 and had left home and started a family I didn't see Tammy as much but always knew if I needed my dog she would be there.
Tammy became unwell a year or so after I left home she had a cancer growth on her side which seemed to be sapping all her goodness, so after long chats with my mum and siblings mum decided the kinder act would be to put Tammy to sleep.
We all went to the vet and said our goodbyes I stayed and watched my best friend my 4 legged sister slowly and peacefully slip into the sleep of no return.
The hole in my heart that Tammy left will never be completely healed and at times of distress I picture in my minds eye my Tammy my best friend.
Nowadays I have after all these years of feeling will I ever find another friend as understanding as Tammy I finally found one .
I was in need of him and he in need of me he has been with me 9 months now and he reminds me of Tammy, his name is Dundee he is a 14'3 gelding horse who ticks all the homemade therapy boxes ( plus a few extra) he let's me groom him ride him pamper him and most important of all snuggle deep into his huge neck breath him in and feel safe and happy- god bless animals and their power of healing and homemade therapy :-)

Fill your home and life with thing that make you smile
Everyone has something special they have bought for their home something that makes them smile or means something to that person, whether it be a piece of art work a rug or something as small as a doorknob the items in a persons home should reflect that persons personality, quirkiness and who they are.
A persons home is their castle and the place for expression.
There are no rules when it comes to home decor it's a blank canvas of experimentation.
So if you want that lightshade red and orange- crack on if you want that hallway carpet black with purple flecks- rock on if the colour your edging toward is slate blue for that fireplace wall -go do it .
If your home reflects you then it's as it should be - perfect.

Smells that remind you ..
Smells that remind you ... There are severalSmells and scents that remind me of many things from my past as a child and teenager such as - the smell of rain on hot concrete, fresh cut grass, line dried washing. Jasmine, honeysuckle, blossom on the evening breeze, the smellOf paint on a summers day when all the windows were flung open wide so the freshly decorated room could dry before bedtime, the scent of hay, carrots, apple for our rabbits at tea time.ImSure there are many many more that have faded from my memory over the years but I think of all of them my favourite was the smell of my mum she had a warmSnuggly smell that only mums have a safe smell, I used to pinch my mums nightie at bedtime so I could cuddle it and smell her it was like she was cuddling me to sleep all night. Iv always been amazed at how a smell can trigger a memory deep in your mind that hasnt been unlocked for years - some smells bring happy reminders some not so happy but whatever it reminds you of it is a very interesting thing that smells trigger memories.
